Moss Construction Management Building plumb and true…with quality, integrity and valued relationships

University of Miami
Interdisciplinary Wet Lab Research Facility

Moss is the Construction Manager at Risk, for the University of Miami’s Interdisciplinary Wet Lab Research Facility (“Amedic Lab”), a 180,000 GSF, 10-story research and laboratory structure that includes office space, interdisciplinary research groups, innovative interaction spaces, and a Vivarium Room. Wet laboratories will include significant utility infrastructure systems and consist of physical sciences, as well as other specialized laboratories with related infrastructure. This project will include a connection to the existing Fox Research Facility on the University’s Medical Campus.

Moss is currently pursuing a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), certification for this project. Project teams (owners, architects, and contractors) use the LEED rating system as a tool to help determine green project goals, identify green design strategies, measure and monitor progress and document success. LEED is a voluntary, market-based rating system for defining what elements make a building 'green' and to quantify how 'green' a building is in comparison to another building.
