Forest Park is an elementary school modernization project that includes 79,120 SF new one- and two-story tilt-wall construction of a 798 student station elementary school with core facilities to accommodate 960 student stations. The construction schedule is an aggressive 13 months for Substantial Completion and two months for Final Completion. Three existing classroom buildings located on-site will remain and will be renovated to include the needs of the school. These buildings consist of approximately 37,057 SF. The existing buildings will be demolished. Construction Schedule is to start with Package 1-Sitework, Demo, UG MEP, Foundations, and Tilt-wall Package. Package 2- will be the remaining Building and Renovation areas. The school will be operational in August 2008.
The site work includes increasing the size of the existing parent drop off and the bus drop off as well as additional parking. A new chiller building will be added to accommodate the new facility. The site has three existing well fields which will be maintained during construction to allow the City of Boynton Beach access. New covered play area and art patio is expected.
The new facility will include classrooms for Pre-K through 5th Grade and skill development labs. Administration, student services, and guidance will be located around the main entrance of the facility. ESE, food services/multi-purpose, a library media center, music, physical education, restrooms, stage/support, and teacher planning will makeup the balance of the facility.
