New Marlins Ballpark construction update

Miami, Florida, January 14, 2010

Construction Progress

The Marlins New Ballpark project has welcomed the New Year ahead of schedule. The Florida Marlins together with Hunt/Moss, A Joint Venture, have completed 8 of the 12 super columns that will support the retractable roof. Work continues on the remaining 4 Super Columns, known as the Tree Columns, located at the ballpark's west entrance plaza. The track beam that will support the retractable roof is being formed & placed on the ground, and will be hoisted to its permanent position above the super columns when complete. The track beam lifts are scheduled to begin in February. Also, the west mezzanine concrete deck has been completed. East columns from Service level to Main Concourse Level are complete. West main concourse slabs are in progress while the East main concourse formwork for the slabs and walls are ongoing. West Suite Level is in the works, and West Club Level slab will be poured by the end of January.
The Marlins Exceed all Local Participation Goals for the New Ballpark Project

The Florida Marlins continue to exceed all local participation goals for the new Marlins Ballpark project. The Florida Marlins, six months into construction, are proud to announce 63% of workers are from Miami Dade County, from which 28% are from the City of Miami. Also, 57% of firms working on the project are from Miami Dade County. We care about Miami and its residents and meeting and exceeding our local participation goals is an absolute priority. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Miami workers and Miami based companies for the remainder of the project until opening day in 2012.
