Moss & Associates Wins ABC 2009 National Safety Award
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, July 27, 2009 – On June 24, representatives of Moss & Associates were in Washington D.C. to receive a 2009 National Safety Excellence Merit Award from the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC).The ABC National Safety Excellence Merit Awards - the 2nd highest safety award presented by the organization - recognize companies with exemplary safety performance and programs, as well as companies that exhibit a continued commitment to job site safety. Moss was one of seven ABC contractor members out of almost 15,000 to receive the award.
“We focus on improving safety practices at every project statewide, making sure our trade contractors become very involved in the educational process,” said Brian Trusky, Moss vice president - loss prevention. “For example Moss & Associates uses innovative techniques such as ‘data mining’ to analyze accident patterns; and deploys automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on each of its job sites, accelerating a life-saving response in the event of a cardiac arrest.”

The ABC National Safety Excellence and National Safety Merit Awards recognize companies whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee and companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety. Awards are based on data submitted via STEP Platinum applications and interviews with each companies' safety directors and owners. Award categories are based on a company's total work-hours per calendar year and placement within the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
ABC is a national association representing 25,000 construction and construction-related firms in 79 chapters across the United States.
