Moss Anderson Construction Honored With Liberty Mutual’s Top Construction Safety Award

On April 5, Liberty Mutual Insurance Group presented the Gold Medal award to Moss Anderson Construction Group (a partnership of Moss & Associates and Roy Anderson Corp.) for outstanding construction safety in completion of the Carillon Beach Inn and Condos in Panama City Beach.
The Gold Award is Liberty Mutual’s highest honor for effective construction safety practices awarded to less than 1% of its clients. Liberty Mutual is the sixth largest property and casualty insurer in the US.

“As this luxury condominium project nears completion, our team has compiled more than 200,000 manhours with no loss-time incidents, accidents, or injuries,” said Brian Trusky, Moss & Associates’ safety director. “The award reflects the entire team’s intensive safety focus from training and communications to on-site procedures.”
Qualifying for the Liberty Mutual Gold Award is based on a rate of lost work days, injuries, and illness (LWDII) that fall below (or that are less than) 20% of the National Bureau of Labor Statistics average. Projects must be 90% completed to qualify. The Carillon Beach Inn and Condos is scheduled for completion later this month.
With a scenic waterfront location on Florida’s North Gulf Coast along the Panhandle, the Carillon Beach Inn and Condos consists of three, seven-story structures. The 65,471-square-foot Carillon Beach Inn offers 70 residences and a commons area. The Sunrise and Sunset Condominium towers consist of 14 additional residences covering 83,500 square feet.
The Moss Anderson team was recently honored with Florida’s first Sunshine State Safety Recognition Award, presented by the University of South Florida’s Safety Consultation Program for effective safety and health management programs in constructing the Emerald Grande, a 281-unit luxury waterfront condominium in Destin, Florida.
