Back to Healthcare/Laboratory Project List
Leon Medical Center — Kendall
Location: Miami, Florida
Client: Leon Medical Center
Architect: MGE
This phased modernization included medical offices and laboratory space within a renovated 4-story building. The medical facility features patient exam rooms, an optical and podiatry center, a CT scanning suite, ultrasound and echo facilities, an urgent care center, labs and diagnostic rooms, a dental area and various nurse stations. The modernization also included replacing all windows to hurricane impact, upgrading HVAC systems, adding fire sprinklers, site improvements and landscaping.
After completing this portion of the work, Moss was contracted by Leon Medical Centers to renovate the third and fourth floors of the medical office building. This second project included 28,563 SF of office space, with the third floor to accommodate the IT Department and flexible office space, and the fourth floor to contain several administrative and clerical departments. The project included primarily office functions, with extensive use of modular systems furniture and walls, in addition to conventional wall construction.
Moss worked closely with the owner and designers to ensure all budget, schedule and logistical requirements were addressed prior to beginning work in the field. Construction of this fast-track project took place while portions of the building remained fully operational. The project represents one of two consecutive projects that Moss constructed for this owner.
